We offer a client centred and non-judgmental approach to help youth get empowered and find their voice to express thoughts and feelings, in order to build their own identity in such a sensitive time in life. During that time, teenagers are going through biological changes as well as brain development, and behaviour changes are not uncommon. We communicate using their language and we help youth find a safe space in our therapeutic setting.


Family Therapy Sessions

Family therapy has a very specific and interesting dynamic that focuses in the family system, and not in individual members. Sessions can incorporate a child and their parent(s), the whole family, or even some parent coaching.


Couples Therapy Sessions

Therapy sessions with both partners can help improving communication, reconnecting partners and rebuild the relationship. Our goal is to help couples reach their own goal, work on conflict resolution and gain insights in their own couples dynamics. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a type of therapy effective for PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. Its goal is to desensitize client’s distress and help them process traumatic events and sensations. It also uses eye movements to bring into awareness previous experiences, moving towards adaptive resolution and insights. Juliana Hupsel has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology. She became a psychologist driven by the goal to help people. This drive came from her personal experience of having grown so much as a person after attending counselling during her teenage years.

Juliana has been practicing for more than 17 years, with six of those years being a counselling practice in Canada. She is an evidence-based practitioner with training and experience working with children, teenagers, and adults. Juliana had practiced in several fields, including private practice, educational settings, and health care. She has experience providing crisis intervention and dealing with individuals with acute stress. Her training includes models such as Psychodynamics, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Couples Counselling (Gottman Training 1 and 2), Trauma, and Culturally-informed approaches.

Donna has a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work and has been a practicing mental health therapist since 2015. Before becoming a psychotherapist, she taught high school in Houston, Texas, specializing in academically, behaviourally and legally probated high school students. In addition to working as a therapist in private practice, Donna also works as an inpatient clinician in acute psychiatry for Alberta Health Services where she has been mentored by psychiatrists who specialize in personality disorders, trauma, addiction, anxiety and mood disorders.

Donna takes a neurobiological and family systems approach to help clients understand the way thoughts and beliefs impact emotions and drive behaviours. Partnering with the client to challenge unhelpful beliefs (which may contribute to anxiety, depression and relationship challenges) can help clients get unstuck and more focused on healthy functioning and personal growth.

In addition to being certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (trauma therapy), Donna is also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
